HAC Medical Gas Training & Services of Leicester have vast experience in Medical Gas Training, boasting over 50 years combined knowledge within this field of expertise.
Headed by Paul Henton as Managing Director with over 30 years of experience within the MGPS Sector as a whole, and a former Eastwood Park Guest Lecturer, the training team also comprises of former Senior BOC Trainers, Mark Milne & Brian Baitup, who also possess a wealth of knowledge and a great deal of respect within the industry.
Now entering its third year of trading, HAC Medical Gas Training & Services has developed a new e-Learning package, adherent to HTM 02:01 (SHTM02:01) Standards & Guidelines.
The course is available as an internet-based application where clients are able to purchase a number of licenses to cover all of their Nursing Personnel. The client will also benefit from ongoing maintenance of the system, along with updates and support.
The costs incurred by using HAC’s e-Learning package are considerably lower than carrying out classroom-based training (as is usually the case). The course also has the added advantage of having the ability to be scheduled, to ensure the annual refresher course is not missed and that delegates complete the program before expiration. However, due to certain aspects of Medical Gas Safety, face-to-face learning still forms an essential part of the Training Program and we would always recommend a classroom-based training session be taken every two years by any Nursing and Clinical Personnel dealing with Medical Gases.
HAC will also be introducing a “Gases Champion & Practical Assessor” course to train some personnel on site to a higher standard. This course will enable these employees to assist those using the e-Learning system and to assess their practical skills. For example, setting up a cylinder for use; this would fulfill the requirements of the recent Medical Gases Safety Alert NHS/PSA/W/2018/001.
Flexibility is key with any educational course. Our e-Learning package has the functionality to allow us to tailor-make bespoke courses to suit specific customer needs and their respective sites. For instance, where a mainstream Hospital may have the full suite of Medical Gases installed, a Hospice may only use Oxygen and therefore not necessarily requiring so much content within their specific course.
Most importantly, this training will provide a simple, user-friendly and cost-effective means of training Clinical Staff, giving them the necessary knowledge to work safely with Medical Gases and administer them to patients in a safe manner.
Our courses are fully certificated and are available now to suit all NHS and Private Hospitals, Hospices, Nursing Homes, Doctors Surgeries, Clinics or even Ambulance Services; in essence, anywhere that Medical Gases are used.
